SEOUL, Oct. 27th, 2026 ― LG Chem is poised to expand its presence in the European mobility market by showcasing its high-value materials portfolio for future vehicles.
LG Chem announced today that it will participate in the International Suppliers Fair (IZB 2026), to be held Oct. 27―29 in Wolfsburg, Germany.
IZB is a premier biennial global trade fair for automotive suppliers and component manufacturers. Originally a supplier showcase for the Volkswagen Group, it has grown into a leading international event where major suppliers and global parts and materials companies network to explore new business opportunities. This year’s exhibition is expected to draw about 850 companies from 33 countries and more than 40,000 visitors.
LG Chem is participating in IZB for the first time and will be the only Korean materials company at this year’s event. This debut follows the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Volkswagen Group in September to jointly develop future mobility materials, marking an expansion of cooperation between the two companies.
Under the theme “Powering Customer-Driven Innovation,” LG Chem’s booth will feature high value material solutions and technical expertise tailored to areas gaining traction among European original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), including recycling, electrification, high performance and cost-efficiency.
LG Chem will highlight a comprehensive portfolio of high-value materials for future vehicles.
It includes automotive lightweighting solutions, such as metal-replacement and paintless materials, interior and exterior components made with post-consumer recycled (PCR) materials; materials designed to prevent thermal runaway in batteries; and switchable glazing film (SGF) materials for smart automotive glass. Through these offerings, LG Chem aims to strengthen relationships with existing clients and identify new partners and business opportunities.
The company also plans to host specialized sessions for visiting client executives on sustainability strategies and cost-efficiency solutions using paintless and recycled materials.
Kim Sangmin, Senior Vice President and Head of LG Chem’s Petrochemicals Company, said:
“This trade fair serves as a significant milestone to further strengthen our collaboration in the field of future vehicle materials, as our technological and product capabilities have been recognized by global customers, including the Volkswagen Group. Based on differentiated materials solutions and technologies, LG Chem will lead innovation in high-value-added future mobility together with our partners.”
To enhance visitor experience, LG Chem will provide AI-recorded audio tours linked to product-specific QR codes, explaining the physical properties and functional advantages of each material. The company also plans to maintain digital connections with customers after the event through its newly established e-Mobility website.
